IIBA is an independent non-profit professional association established in 2003 in Canada and has became the leading association for business analyst around the globe. While IIBA has a strong presence in the UK the certifications are not as highly recognised as the BCS qualifications although that might change in the coming years.
IIBA manages 2 qualifications for business analysts: CCBA and CBAP. CCBA short for Certification of Competency in Business Analysis is aimed at professionals with at least 2.5 years of experience while CBAP – Certified Business Analysis Professional. The exams are based on the BABOK guide. You need to have at least 2.5 years of experience to be considered for the IIBA accredited qualifications hence they appeal more to people who want to get recognised for their skills and experience.
