Dr Mike Goodland

Dr Mike Goodland has been working in IT for more than 20 years as a business analyst, consultant, trainer, author and university lecturer. He was instrumental in the development of business analysis and systems development methods for the UK government and his books on that method (SSADM) have sold more than 40,000 copies.

Mike has developed courses in business analysis that have been sold to many organisations (indeed you may find that other ISEB course providers are using our materials under licence) and given hundreds of courses on this and related areas. He also has considerable practical experience through working as a consultant on many key strategic projects. Coupled with his academic and teaching experience, this ensures that as a tutor you are getting someone whose knowledge is ‘second to none’.

Richard Johnson

Richard has a wealth of experience gained in a variety of roles in blue-chip environments and the public sector, such as American Express and HM Treasury. This includes over 15 years managing programmes and projects across the world including 10 years of systems development. Richard is a very experienced PRINCE2™ Practitioner and an active Gateway™ Reviewer of Government IT projects.

He is also a highly regarded public speaker and delivers training courses that are effective and entertaining. Richard is a Director of the College of Public Speaking. He is also employed on a part-time basis to deliver lectures to postgraduate students at the University of Greenwich in Project Management and the Strategic use of E-Business.

 

Mike Eckersley

Mike is a seasoned Business Analyst with over 30 years broad based experience across multiple industries. He spent the first part of his career in Retail Banking, specialising in Credit Risk & Product Management, and was heavily involved in numerous change initiatives, before moving into the Information Systems domain in the early 90’s. Since then he has worked predominantly as a Business & Systems Analyst managing change at the interface between the Business & IT domains.

He has a particular interest in identifying the linkages & integration points between Industry Standard Frameworks & Methods, he enjoys translating complex technology concepts into formats that both business and technical people can readily understand. Mike is a Chartered Engineer, holds a 1st Class Honours degree in Computing & Psychology, an ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis, and OMG certifications in Business Process Management.

Dawn Kidd

Dawn has 20 years experience within the IT industry always gravitating towards the BA role regardless of job title, initially for a software development company delivering bespoke software solutions for a variety of large public and private companies across a broad range of industries. Moving onto a consultancy firm delivering e-commerce solutions to a wide range of companies from manufacturers to financial industries. Finally spending 12 years working as a BA within a financial services company delivering solutions for foreign exchange, treasury and regulatory compliance projects.

Throughout her entire career, Dawn has been interested in object-oriented methodologies specialising in UML and mentoring her former colleagues in adopting this approach. She is a Computer Science graduate who also holds the BCS BA Diploma and enjoys using her diverse experience to illustrate course principles with real-world examples and enthusiasm.

Dr Claudia Michalik

Claudia is an accredited Prince2™ Practitioner, BCS Business Analyst, Lean Six Sigma Belt and qualified accountant with a track record of delivering major financial transformation projects. She has extensive experience in managing complex programs and full lifecycle projects across a variety of large and medium-sized organizations worldwide.

Claudia has successfully founded and grown a management consultancy specializing in business process re-engineering and total quality management for manufacturing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Being German, her project delivery focuses on efficiency within tight time and budget scales. Claudia is currently working as an independent Interim Manager for leading financial services organizations in the UK.

She has a profound academic background, holding master degrees in Business Administration and Science and a PhD in Innovation & Technology from international alma maters. Claudia’s extensive industry experience based on her strong academic foundation ensures that her courses are both comprehensive and benchmarked against real-life case studies. Her students appreciate her light-hearted and discursive approach to teaching.

Victor Page

Victor Page is an independent method-agnostic Agile coach and trainer. He worked for BT from 1979 to 1997. His last ten years in BT were spent in various software development roles. This involved working on Agile and traditional Information Systems development projects in the UK, USA and Europe.

After leaving BT he worked as a Lecturer at London Guildhall University, London Metropolitan University, Kingston University and the University of Westminster. Latterly he was Associate Dean at NCC Education.

Steve Messenger

Closely involved in the DSDM Consortium, Steve has been involved in Agile since its inception. DSDM was one of the signatories of the Agile Manifesto, and Steve was pioneering iterative approaches to software development from the mid-1990s. As well as managing many Agile projects, Steve has implemented Agile into the highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals.

Steve is often asked to present at conferences in Europe and the USA. He has also published articles and written blog entries on the topics of Agile Project and Programme Management and Scaled Agile. He was lead author of the DSDM Agile Programme framework and contributed to the DSDM Agile Project Framework. His book, “Understanding Agile – a Guide for Managers” will be published shortly.

Steve has also co-authored papers on DSDM and PRINCE2, applying DSDM in an offshore environment and using DSDM with PMBOK. Accredited in project management techniques such as PRINCE2, Steve has more than 35 years of experience and has been responsible for large 6 figure projects and programmes.

He now uses his experience to provide training and consultancy to large organisations, and this keeps him up to date on current Agile thinking, trends and problems.

Nick de Voil

Nick de Voil is a Certified Management Consultant specialising in information systems and customer experience design. He has over 30 years experience including roles in business analysis, project management, consultancy, systems development and teaching at a Further Education college. He has written and delivered numerous articles, book chapters and conference presentations, particularly on subjects related to business analysis and user experience.

Nick has served for several years on the board of IIBA UK, the UK Chapter of the international professional body for business analysts, and enjoys mentoring and coaching other business analysts.

Nick has a 1st Class degree in Computer Studies and Russian, and a MSc in Human-Computer Interaction with Ergonomics. He holds BCS and APMG certifications in business analysis, systems design and software testing, as well as qualifications in consultancy, Further Education and the securities and investment industry.

Rod Simpson

Rod has been working within the IT field for over 30 years. In this time he has had roles from operator to Head of IT for an overseas bank. Since 2001 he has been working as a business analyst within the finance sector both in the UK as well as Europe and brings this wealth of practical experience along with his natural enthusiasm to his courses. He has two passions that he wants others to be converted too.

Good modelling, because if a picture worth a thousand words then a good model is worth ten thousand. Secondly ‘Business Architecture’, he has encounter many example of poor business architecture and would like to teach companies to use the best techniques. He was recently one of the first people in this country to pass the BCS Business Architect exam.

David Harris

David Harris has over 35 years of Business Systems delivery experience, working on a variety of applications, across a range of industry sectors. He comes from a bespoke systems development background in aerospace engineering and manufacturing, delivered business charge associated with the implementation of COTS MRP systems, and was instrumental in delivering Portfolio Management, Change and Traceability Governance, Configuration and Systems development methods as Systems Development Manager for an insurance company.

Since the mid ‘90’s David has worked as an independent contractor, predominantly as a Business Analyst, across manufacturing, retail, distribution, defense, education and the public sectors. He has also performed specialist Portfolio Management, IT Enabled Change Management Road Mapping, Programme Co-ordination, Corporate Data Model Management, Process Change, Project Finance, Planning, and Solution design roles.

David’s certifications include; IIBA® CBAP®, BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, APM Group PRINCE 2® Practitioner, APMGI Agile Project Management Practitioner, APMGI Change Management, APMGI Management of Portfolios, ITIL®, Professional Scrum Master, ISEB SSADM V4 – Analysis & Design. He has also studied and practiced as a complimentary therapist, in which he holds a number of professional standard certifications.

Graham Berrisford

Graham Berrisford has 40 years experience in the IT industry. He spent 8 years working for a global systems integrator, for whom he established an architect community, architecture best practices, and a 3-week architect training programme.

Since publishing his own architecture framework, he has been recognised internationally as an authority in architecture processes and products. He brings this experience to explaining business architecture in a uniquely consistent and coherent way.

Graham has over 25 years working with clients in the public sector, utility companies, consultancies, CASE tool vendors and a global systems integrator. He is an experienced manager and consultant, analyst and architect, who has made a difference, improved processes and rolled out best practices. He combines his technical skills with the ability to mentor, manage and influence people. His innovations have been copied by others.

Jumoke Ogunbekun

Jumoke Ogunbekun has over 10 years experience delivering telecoms projects, managing large IT and telecoms projects/programmes all around the world. She has previously worked for Fujitsu, Atos, Centrica, O2, Vodafone and Save the Children.

Jumoke is well acknowledged for her extensive and in-depth methods of teaching, helping trainees to develop a good understanding of fundamentals as well as bringing the theory to life with a training style that incorporates practical applications. Jumoke holds professional certifications from APMG International and is an outstanding AgilePM, MSP, Change Management and DevOps trainer.

Alun Davies-Baker

Alun Davies-Baker is an Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) and a certified Agile Business Consortium DSDM Trainer-Coach. He is an innovative professional, with 20 years of experience in senior leadership and consulting roles, across global and UK organisations and enterprise projects. Alun aligns creative thinking with extensive business process and application knowledge to facilitate collaboration and deliver successful outcomes.

Imtiaz Kaderbhoy

Imtiaz has spent the last few years bringing the heart, art and science to training, coaching and mentoring Business Analysts. His energy and passion for analysis has enabled a successful career in analysis. More recently Imtiaz spoken at several international Business Analyst conferences and is currently presenting the latest round of the IIBA BABOK webinar series in the UK.

Imtiaz has worked on a variety of small and large projects. Primarily focused on problem solving and root cause analysis, whilst placing the human touch in all interactions above all else. Treating people, the way they want to be treated has been the cornerstone of Imtiaz delivering meaningful benefits to projects and businesses.

Imtiaz now combines his time on project work, training Business Analysts, public speaking and mentoring BA’s, supporting them on their career path.

As a former Operations Director of the UK chapter, Imtiaz continues to volunteer, supporting the growth of the profession.
